It’s nearly time! We are looking forward to hosting you! Get ready for some tough workouts – we hope you have prepared for the “unknown and the unknowable”!
It is every athlete’s responsibility to ensure that they are of the appropriate fitness level for the event. Each athlete is required to sign a PAR-Q form and Personal Indemnity Form before they compete. You can complete the PAR-Q form at registration or download, print and bring to registration. Team captains can bring their team’s fully completed PAR-Q forms if the captain will be the only one Registering the team. You must have completed and signed the PAR-Q form in full to be able to compete at the EECC in 2018.
Athletes, you must please check that you are physically visible at our “Registered Athletes 2018” list and that you and your team are in the correct category:
If you are not on either of these lists please email support@itensityonline.com and info@eastcapechamps.co.za
If you are not on these lists you will not be able to compete this weekend, as you will not be in the heat schedules!
On that note – please ensure that you are registered in the correct category for your current skill level and ability. I.e. if you have been participating in RX categories in other competitions then you should be competing Rx here! RX individuals should stick to the RX team category when entering for the team comp – exceptions may be allowed but please inform dave@algoacrossfit.com what these are and why you have not stuck to your category! The competition needs to be fair…the Endurade East Cape Champs committee reserves the right to disqualify any team or individual who is participating below their actual level in any said division! A simple rule of thumb is if you are partaking in CrossFit.com (benchmark wods and daily wods) or Games.CrossFit.com workouts (Open & Regionals) Rx then you should be doing likewise here. There may be some exceptions to this rule but we will determine if those are valid or not in those specific cases.
All those who registered manually late (i.e. not online via Itensity and Sagepay), please bring along your proof of payment (printed out) to Registration. All individual and team payments done manually not presenting proof of payment, will not be allowed to take their athlete pack including shirt/s!
Please find a basic schedule below. Heat times and lane assignments will only be 100% correct later in the week! We will provide you with a link to the Schedule once it is ready!
Thursday – 6 September
18:00-19:00… Individual Registration at – The Tramways Building (c/o Valley Road and South Union Street, Central, Port Elizabeth, 6001)
Friday – 7 September
07:40 Late Registration (Individuals) – Happy Valley Beach (under the bridge)
08:00 Athlete Briefing (All Individuals) – Happy Valley Beach (under the bridge)
08:30 – 14:30 Individuals Events 1 – 3 at Happy Valley Beach
NB – Bring food and refreshments, swim wear, goggles (if you use), sunscreen, hats, warm clothes, weight-lifting belt if you use, wrist wraps if you use and a towel (x2) are required.
The weather man indicates rain so also bring along plenty of warm clothes, a rain jacket, umbrella etc.
